Guadalupe Garcia de Rayos is a 35 year old women from Mexico who came here illegally when she was 16. She was just deported back to Mexico even though she now has two American born children. She stole someone’s SS # and was arrested for it, but not deported. Now, people are saying that what is going on is racist. Racist is one of those words that is so overly used that it has lost it’s meaning. Someone stated that she “was working with her attorney to get things cleared up”. Yeah, well if I get an attorney after I rob a bank, it doesn’t change the fact that I robbed the bank or lesson the severity of the crime i committed. Do I feel bad for her? No. Do I feel bad for her children? Of course, but they have no one to blame but their mother for not following the rules in the first place.
So Colin Kaepernick’s name has been all over the news and on my facebook feed for the past few days now. Let’s start from the beginning shall we? Preseason game, Colin stays seated during the National Anthem. Twitter and the media explode.
As a veteran myself, as soon as i hear it being played, i automatically want to stand up, at times even standing at attention. Why? Because that is what was expected of me during my time in the service, as well as how I was brought up.
Being that Kaepernick is black, I’ve read and heard first hand how this is a Black Lives Matter stint and that he is playing the race card. I don’t think that is the case though. As much as I hate BLM with a passion, I don’t believe their is a connection. I believe that he has his values and feelings about certain shit going on in our country and this is his way of expressing them.
“He sure is oppressed making $14 million.” That’s true, but let’s think of it this way. Let’s say you make $60 grand a year, but complain on how bad you’re being treated at work. That would be like me saying “well you can’t be treated that bad, you’re still making $60 grand”. Doesn’t matter how much you make, you are still allowed to complain and voice your opinion. I will say that I wish he would take that $14 million and donate to some inner city organizations or create some scholarships just to shut people up.
I find it funny how a country that will support Hillary’s mischievous ways and Trump’s mouth, will all of a sudden lose their collective shit over someone not standing for our anthem. A country split by red and blue, coming together to bitch about a 2nd string QB. Don’t mind the murderer’s, rapist, drug abusers, and wife (spouse) beaters that are playing on your team, let’s complain about someone sitting.
I’m no fan of Kaepernick, but what he is doing is showing why America is the land of the free. By not standing during our anthem, he is showing the world the importance of freedom and why being an American is so great. I think people forget that we all have choices, even though it may not be a popular one. If people would come together and complain about how terrible our schools are or how people are dying in Chicago every day, or how 22 veterans commit suicide every day, like they are Colin, then perhaps we could solve some of these more important issues.
I just left the chiropractor’s office after getting adjusted and really, I don’t feel a difference. I understand that fixing a 16 year problem will not happen over night or in my case, four times, but just a little relief would be nice. I do feel a little better about 10 minutes after the fact, but then it’s back to pain. The VA said that I probably need surgery but they will not pay for it until i get into my 50’s. They said i’m too young (36) right now to have to go through that. I call bullshit, but then again ,it’s the VA and the shit they feed you has to be taken with a grain of salt.
Graduation is tomorrow and I’m both excited and worried. Excited because i can finally say that I have a master’s degree but worried because I know that those student loans are going to be a bitch to repay back. Putting out resumes is kind of like fishing. You throw out a hook and hope that the big one bites. Unfortunately, sometimes it’s just a minnow. Now granted, when you’ve been fishing all day, even a minnow can make you excited. Well, for as many resumes I have put out there, I’m beginning to think that the pond needs to be restocked. I really can’t put all the blame on the pond of course, sometimes when you catch a decent sized fish, you throw it back, hoping for a bigger one. That is my problem. I’ve had a few good jobs, one that paid crazy good, yet I through it all away hoping for something better. This of course does not look good on a resume. Here’s the thing, I don’t leave a job for the sake of just being bored and leaving, but the jobs that i have had, have been physical and right now in my current condition, I just can’t do those types of jobs anymore.
Late last night/ early this morning there was a plane that was flying from Paris to Egypt that went missing from radar. Trump tweeted out that it was terror related and of course the twitter police (Hillary and Bernie supporters) all tweeted how he was jumping the gun. Funny thing though, this morning the Egyptian president said that it was terror related. So yeah, jumping the gun wasn’t so far fetched was it.
Banks have to be the biggest ripoffs. I’ll use my bank as an example. If I have $50 in my account and my kohls automatic bill pay is $55, my back will pay it, putting my account -$5. On top of that, they will charge me $27 for ISF which will bring it to -$32. Now lets say walmart automatic bill pay is $40. Because my account is in the red, they will not pay it obviously. However, they will still charge me $27 for ISF even though they will not pay it. That leads it to -$59 in my account. Walmart doesn’t know that there is no money, just that the payment didn’t go through, so they try it again. And again the bank rejects it and tacks on another $27 for ISF. So now my original -$5 is -$86 all thanks to ISF fees. Of course people will say that it is my own fault for not having the money in there, and yes, that is true, but life happens and sometimes you go through a rough patch.
Sitting here at Starbucks, I looked out the window and just saw a guy drop his food on the ground, look around, picked it up and put it in his mouth. 5 second rule I suppose. But yeah, i’m not eating something that feel on the ground outside where people sit and possible have shit on their shoes.
I have more to talk about, but I just hit a writing wall.
Just felt the need to complain about some stuff.
At Least 34 Dead, Over 170 Injured After Explosions at Airport and Metro Station. During and after terrorist attacks, I usually hold my opinion about who I believe the suicide bombers were. I don’t know why I hold my opinion, when usually my intuition is correct.
What i find interesting is that this attack happened just days after Salah Abdeslam, who was part of the Nov. 13 Paris attack that killed 130 people, was captured alive. Salah told the authorities that his cell had plans to attack Brussels. Was this a retaliation for Salah being captured? Perhaps they did it now instead of later for fear that Salah would tell of their plans and spoil the attack?
I’ve stated before that I put the blame of all these attacks on G.W. Bush. Ever since we “liberated” Iraq, the world has gone to shit. Some of these countries need to be ruled by a dictator, diplomacy just won’t work.
Facebook, the land of keyboard warriors with law degrees. The first thing I saw on facebook this morning were the attacks and people bitching that the Today Show interviewed Trump and not Hillary. If you don’t like Trump, that’s fine. But the guy is probably going to be the Republican nominee, meaning that he may have a chance to be President. So why not get his take on the situation? It’s not like he can do shit now about it anyways. As for Hillary, she declined to comment because there were not enough facts yet. Here’s a fact for Hillary, people are dead and hurt due to a terrorist attack. What more do you need to know?
I’m flying to Austin in a week and I’m already dreading the security check that is going to be upped because of this attack. I will however not bitch about TSO, they’re just doing their jobs.
Where do we go from here? Well, stopping ISIS is not as easy as just going in with ground troops. Yeah, we can kill thousands of ISIS troops, but you can’t kill an ideology. Trump had the right idea, we need to halt Muslims from being able to come in while we figured this crap out. I’d even take it a step further and halt all non Americans from being able to come in to the United States. I’m not trying to be a dick, but if you see a roach come through a hole in the wall, are you going to allow the possibility of other roaches to come in or are you going to call an exterminator and seal up that hole?
Let’s just talk about this goofy video making it’s rounds on Facebook.
Let’s talk about this picture that is floating around the internet by journalist Shaun King.
Why would a bunch of white men surround a young black girl at a Trump rally? You could blame it on racism, or perhaps maybe you can blame it on the Black Lives Matter group.
I’ve stated before that the BLM group has hurt its cause more than help it. Who are the majority of protesters who have gone to these rallies and caused interruptions? Young black men and women. Now im not saying that this young lady went to this rally looking for trouble, but I don’t know too many people who go protesting with smiles on their faces. What have we been shown on tv with respect to BLM? Young black people interrupting the candidates. So when a group of white people (at a trump rally none the less) see a young black female walking around with a smile on her face, they are probably assuming trouble. Again, im not condoning their action. Hell, i’ve been nervous both times I have went to the Trump rallies, being that im Mexican. However, I’m also not trying to draw attention to myself.
Unfortunately in the digital age, people want to be seen. Even if that means you may take an ass beating or name calling. Drawing attention to yourself and being made to look like the victim is the new rage. As most of my friends know, I can not stand Hillary Clinton with a passion. But I’m not going to go to her rally and try to cause a commotion just so i can get my 15 minutes of “street cred”.
What irritates me the most is when people like Shaun King use racism and or pictures like that above and compare it to the events of today. Trying to compare these two pictures is apples to oranges.
On the left, Elizabeth Eckford, known as being a part of the Little Rock Nine, endured this crap because she wanted the equality of education. She wasn’t doing it to get her picture on the front page of the paper. She did it so she, along with other blacks can be a part of equality. The one on the right, knew she was walking into the lions den, she just wanted to stir up the people around her and get her 15 minutes of fame. Do I agree with the people around her calling her names? No. But I also know that Im not walking into a Blank Panther meeting without knowing they may think im there to cause trouble and im probably not going to be welcomed.
